Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the inclusions in steel from increaing and obtain the clean steel by spouting an inert gas to the molten metal surface portion right under a pouring nozzle to form a slag layer expelling part and pouring molten metal flow into this expelling part. CONSTITUTION:An inert gas G such as Ar is spouted downward from a nozzle 5 to remove the slag layer 23 of the molten metal surface part in a tundish of a previous charge existing right under the end of the pouring nozzle 22 of a ladle 21 to its circumference, thereby forming an expelling part 24 and substituting the same with an oxidation-free atmosphere. After this, the sliding nozzle 25 of the ladle 21 containing the molten metal S of the next charge is fully opened to discharge the molten metal S into the tundish, whereby ladle connection of sequential continuous cast is accomplished. According to the continuous casting by this pouring method of molten metal, visible inclusions and pinholes in slab surface decrease considerably and the slag of desired good quality free from any increase in the amounts of T. [N], T[O] in the steel is obtained.
