Abstract

PURPOSE: To cast even the castings of large and small wall thicknesses and large thickness fluctuations by starting pressurizing in such a manner that the air flow rate becomes larger to the upper pressurizing chamber than to the lower pressurizing chamber and pouring the molten metal on the lower pressurizing chamber side into the mold in the upper pressurizing chamber through a feed pipe.
CONSTITUTION: Pressurizing is started in such a manner that the air flow rate to a lower pressurinzing chamber 4 becomes larger than the air flow rate into an upper pressurizing chamber 3, and the molten metal on the lower pressurizing chamber 4 side is poured into the mold in the upper pressurizing chamber 3 by way of a feed pipe 5. Because of this, the time up to the set pressure of the upper pressurizing chamber 3 is determined by the ways of determining the pressures of the upper and lower pressurizing chambers 3, 4; therefore, the delicate controlling becomes feasible, and it becomes possible to cast even the castings of large and small wall thicknesses and large thickness fluctuations.
