Abstract
PURPOSE: To maintain the temperature of molten metals uniformly and within an appropriate range, by installing a channel type induction heating means to the side wall of the tandish between the molten metal pouring point and the molten metal supplying point, and also installing an ingate which divides the tandish into two chambers and which has a path for molten metal, to the inner side of the tandish of the heating means.
CONSTITUTION: A channel type induction heating means 3 is installed to the side wall of a tandish 6 between a molten metal pouring point 1 from a ladle 3 and a molten metal supplying plint to a continuous casting mold, and an ingate 2 which has a path for molten metal 4 of ≤300mm width and which divides the inside of tandish into two chambers, is istalled to the inner side of the tandish 6 of an induction heating means 3. Therefore, the molten metal poured from the ladle is forcedly passed through the narrow path 4 in front of the channel type induction heating means 3 by the ingate 2 and uniformly heated within an appropriate temperature range.
