Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture the sound, high strength casting with the compact structure, by gently pouring the molten metal slantly upward into the cavity of the mold, and by pressuring the molten metal without any time lag to complete the solidification.
CONSTITUTION: The core pin 11 is fixed to the mold 9 by the mold clamping cylinder 16, and the casting cavity 10 is formed; the cylinder 15 being equipped with the pressure tip 14 is arranged at the lower part of the mold 9. On the other hand, at the lower side of the mold 9, the low pressure casting furnace 1 is installed, and the crucible 2 holding the molten metal 3 to be cast is placed within the furnace 1. The molten metal piping 5 through the molten metal pouring pipe 8 is connected to the molten metal pouring and pressuring port 12. The high pressure gas is introduced from the gas feed pipe 6 into the casting furnace 1, and the molten metal 3 is gently poured into the casting cavity 10 by the gas pressure. The cavity 10 is previously evacuated by the vacuum pump VP and the pressure sensing hole 17 is closed; hereby, no sooner the pressure variation in the cavity 10 due to the pouring of the molten metal reaches the set value than the electromagnetic switch 21 is actuated to lift the pressure cylinder 15, whose pressure tip 14 pressures the molten metal to complete the solidification.
