Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform vacuum processing efficiently with the simple means by providing a pressure reduction chamber in molten metal channel. CONSTITUTION:A pressure-reduction chamber 4 is constituted by expanding the upper part of a nozzle 3 to be injected from a ladle 1 into a tundish 2 and the pressure in this pressure-reduction chamber 4 is reduced by a vacuum pump through a pipe 5. Also with the nozzle 3 of the case of injecting from the tundish 2 into a mold 6, its upper part is expanded to form a pressure-reduction chamber 4' and the pressure of said pressure-reduction chamber 4' is reduced by a vacuum pump through a pipe 5'.
