Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce casting products having a superior characteristic, by injecting the molten metal into the mold through a porous filter to remove the slag, the oxide, the contained gas, and the releasing material in the molten metal, in pressure casting for Al, Cu alloys and so on.
CONSTITUTION: In pressure casting for Al, Mg, Cu, and their alloys molten metal 3 is injected into lower mold 1 through ceramic or chrominum porous filter 11 by molten metal injection flume 12. The slag contained in the molten metal, the metall oxide, and contained gas are removed, and the releasing material on the inside face of the mold is prevented from being exfoliated due to scattering of the molten metal at the molten metal injection time, and the molten metal is prevented from absorbing gas such as air. After clean molten metal 3 is injected in this manner, pressure plunger 4 or subplunger 5 is used to put upper mold 6 linked with the plunger face down, and hydrostatic pressure is applied until molten metal 3 is solidified completely. Thus, casting produces superior in mechanical character, dimensional precision, and cast surface without blowholes can be produced with a high yield.
