PURPOSE: To produce a casting which is easy to cut and grind and improves working speed by specifying the temp. of a mold, the thickness of a parting material layer, the speed of filling molten metal and the pressure of molten metal with respect to molten high silicon aluminum alloy contg. a specific amount of Si.
CONSTITUTION: Molten hypereutectic silicon aluminum alloy contg. 13W25wt% Si is cast under fixed conditions. More specifically, it is teemed into a mold under the conditions wherein the temp. of the mold is set at 50W150°C, the thickness of the parting material layer coated in the mold at ≤10μm, the speed filling molten metal at 35W200cm/sec and the pressure of molten metal at 500W800kg/cm2, whereby a casting is produced. Hence, the high silicon aluminum alloy casting of particularly improved machineability is produced.
