Abstract
PURPOSE: To secure a linearization of the relationship between the distance from the electric conductor to be detected and the sensor output, by giving a calibration to the detection output by a computer.
CONSTITUTION: The detection coil C1 forming the bridge circuit BA is put close to the electric conductor W with the gap H secured. The impedance of the coil C1 changes, and accordingly the output value A11 of the amplifier A1 also varies in accordance with the variation of the gap H in a curve. The third algebracial expression f (x) plus the value of each constant are stored previously into the memory CO2 in order to linearize the A11-H curve. Then the switch Sw1 is operated to perform the material desigration of the conductor W, and then the switch SW4 is operated to display the value H1 of the gap H on the display tube BU respectively. After this, the switch SW3 is operated to obtain the output of the amplifier A3, i.e. the function of the temperature difference between the coils C1 and C2 and furthermore to obtain the output of the amplifier A2, i.e. the temperature function of the coil C1. These outputs/functions are then supplied to the computer CO to secure storage of each constant. The computer CO reads out the output of each amplifier, selects the stored constant to substitute it for f (x) and then delivers the output of the gap value H to display it on the display tube.
