Abstract

PURPOSE: To decide whether a level detection signal is correct or not by moving the level detection part of liquid sodium, etc., to the known position in liquid or gas and by comparing the reference voltage with the detection signal voltage of the level detection part in this position.
CONSTITUTION: The level detection part consisting of exciting coil 4 and detection coils 5 and 6 is inserted into probe tube 10 of vessel 1 where conductive liquid 2 such as liquid sodium, and the level detection part is set to the position under the liquid surface or in gas. Therefore, the reference value determined previously for this position is subjected to temperature correction by the detection voltage of thermocouple 7 in operation circuit to obtain a normal value in this position. This normal value is compared with the detection signal voltage (measure value) of the level detection part. When respective values agree with each other or approximate each other in this comparison, the level gauge is normal, and operation circuit 17 displays the measured value on display equipment 21. Meanwhile, when respective values are different from each other in the comparison above, operation circuit 17 stops display of the measure value dependent upon display equipment 21.
