Abstract

PURPOSE: To design small size and light weight of an exciter by specifying the constitution of magnetic pole shoes and the arrangement places of excitation materials.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of magnetic pole shoes 4, 5 (in the right and left side) of exciter 2 are structured with fixed side magnetic pole shoes 4a, 4b and mounting/ dismounting side magnetic pole shoes 5a, 5b which can be mounted and dismounted in accordance with the outer diameter of running rope 1 which is the object to be inspected, and under fixed side magnetic pole shoes 4a, 4b, excitation material 3a and 3b are arranged respectively. Thereby, if there is a damaged part in a strand and others in running rope 1, the leak mgnetic flux is generated at that part, and when the defect part interlinks with detecting coil 10, a micro electromotive voltage is generated in detecting coil 10 and this electromotive voltage is detected as the damage signal. And, excitation material 3a, 3b are arranged directly under excitation shoes 4, 5 and magnetic pole shoes 4, 5 can be mounted, dismounted or exchanged in accordance with the outer diameter of running rope 1, as a result, the magnetization efficiency of the running rope is improved, thus, the reduction of magnetic force of excitation material 3a, 3b is made feasible and the expected purpose is attained.
