Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect the damage of steel wire, by magnetizing the part near the terminal of steel wire lengthwise the steel wire, inspecting the magnetic flux density with the detector located near the external circumference of the terminal metal fixture, and comparing it with the reference curve.
CONSTITUTION: When the part near the terminal 4 of the steel wire is magnetized by using the magnet poles 5, 6 and electromagnet coil 7 for inspection, magnetic flux is caused along the core wires and specific magnetic flux distribution is made on the external circumference of the terminal metal fixture 3 and the space in its vicinity. The reference curve of terminal of the same shape as inspected material is reserved and it is compared with the state of magnetic flux of the terminal 4 of inspected material. If the core wires of inspected material has flaw, partical magnetic pole is formed at the damaged part to cause distortion in the line of magentic flux, then enabling to detect the damage of steel wire inside the terminal metal fixture 3.
