Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent lowering of electric current efficiency and to make refining of electrolyte easy, by controlling the concentration and quantity of alkali metal salt of adipic acid monomethylester in charged solution and continuously adding a part of said ester at the time of charging and also, adding residual part of said ester at the time of electrolytic condensation.
CONSTITUTION: Electrolyte containing sebacic acid dimethylester, is obtained by electrolytically condensing the metal salt of adipic acid monomethylester with water in methanol solvent. The methanol is removed from the electrolyte and residual solution is separated into the oil layer containing sebacic acid dimethylester and water layer containing alkali metal salt of adipic acid monomethyllester and then, sepacic acid dimethylester is prepared. At this time, concentration of water in charged solution is 0.6W3.5wt% and that of alkali metal salt of adipic acid monomethylester is 1wt% or more and weight ratio for water is ≤3 (especially, ≤2) and then, a part of adipic acid monomethylester is continuously added at the time of charging the solution and also, residual part of said ester is continuously added during electrolytic condensation.
