Abstract

PURPOSE: To deposit calcium phosphate with good efficiency and perform dephosphorization by allowing a proper amt. of a calcium compound to exist to the phosphorus component contained in waste water, and electrolyzing the same under prescribed pH conditions.
CONSTITUTION: A calcium compound is allowed to exist to the phosphorus component contained in waste water at 1W8mol in terms of calcium ion Ca+2 per mole the phosphorus component in terms of phosphoric acid ion PO4 2-. This waste water is electrolytically treated under 3W7pH conditions, thereby allowing calcium phosphate to deposit and settle. It is preferable to set the electrolytic conditions at, for example 1W6V voltages and 0.1W10A/dm2 current densities. As electrodes, platinum metals such as, for example, Pt, In, Rh, Ru, or their oxide are used for the anode and stainless steel, iron, Ni, etc. for the cathode.
