Abstract
PURPOSE:Many Ti (alloy)-made porous substrates are spacedly arranged at a proper distance as multi-layer anodes and cathodes are placed at both sides. By using such device, an electrolyte containing MnSO4 is elecrolyzed at specified maximum and minimum potential differences between each electrode and electrolyte, thereby providing uniform MnO2 electrodeposited catalyst at one time operation. CONSTITUTION:Grating or net like formed Ti (alloy)-made porous substrates are faced in plural to be made into a plural anode 12. At both sides of the anode, cathode 11 are located through electrolyte 14 essentially consiting of sulfuric acid and MnSO4 . Voltage from the power source 13 is applied to both anodes and cathodes for electrolysis to uniformly precipitate and electrodeposit MnO2 on each of the anodes 12. The potential difference between the point B at the center of the anodes 12 and A is restricted below 6.OV, where the B has the maximum electrolyte potential difference from the cathode 11 and the A the minimum. Such potential condition limits the variations of the deposition within 10%, thereby providing MnO2 catalyst having uniformly distributed MnO2 on the anode substrates.
