Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve engine characteristics from low-speed rotation range to high-speed rotation range and from light load to high load by providing two superchargers in parallel to each other and controlling operation of one of the superchargers according to boosting pressure of the other supercharger.
CONSTITUTION: A main supercharger 6 and an auxiliary supercharger 9 of which capacity is smaller than the supercharger 6 are provided in parallel in a inlet passage 2 of an engine 1, and an exhaust waste gate valve 10 with a piston 12, which responds to boosting pressure P1 generated by a compressor 3 of the main supercharger 6, is provided in an exhaust passage 4 on an upstream side of a turbine 8 of the auxiliary supercharger 9. Furthermore, in the inlet passage 2 on a downstream side of a compressor 7, an inlet relief valve 17 with a piston 19 which responds to the boosting pressure P1 is provided. Also, in the suction passage 2 in the downstream side of the inlet relief valve 17, an inlet confluence valve 23 which responds to boosting pressure P2 generated by the compressor 7 is provided.
