Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled clad superior to a conventional clad in corrosion preventing effect by cladding one side or both sides of a core material having a specified composition contg. Mg, Mn, Si, etc. with a shell material having a specified composition contg. Zn, Ca, Li, etc. CONSTITUTION:One side or both sides of a core material consisting of, by wt., 0.05-1% Mg, one or more among <=1.5% Mn, <=1% Si, <=0.4% Cu and <=0.2% Zr and the balance Al are clad with a shell material consisting of 0.1-20% Zn, 0.01-20% in total of one or more among Ca, Li, Na and K and the balance Al by a known method. To keep the potential of the core material higher than that of the shell material at all times the shell material protects the core material at any state. Accordingly, the resulting Al alloy clad shows superior cathodic protection effect.
