Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the separation of an active material from negative plates by filling a pastelike active material in drilled thin nickel steel plates which have been formed into wavelike plates. CONSTITUTION:A core is formed either by machining a drilled nickel steel plate of a thickness not more than 0.5mm. into a wavy form, or by performing a nickel-plating on a drilled steel plate after machining it into a wavy form. Following that, this core is filled with a pastelike active material whose main component is cadmium, thus obtaining a negative plate. As the above mentioned core, a wavelike plate of a thickness not more than 1mm. and the wave pitch of 2-4mm. is preferred.
