Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an output of stable light frequency and high power, by making the direction of polarization of a laser oscillator different from that of an injection synchronization type light amplifier to which the output of the oscillator is applied. CONSTITUTION:A compact laser oscillator 1 of low output is provided. Its oscillation output is amplified by an injection syncrhonization type light amplifier U. The amplifier U performs laser oscillation at the time of noninjection. The oscillation output of the amplifier differs in the direction of polarization from that of the oscillator 1 and is transmitted upward and removed by a polarizer 5. At the time of injection, the laser oscillation of the amplifier U is stopped and injected light is amplified and picked off as an output. This output light passes through the polarizer 5 so that the light becomes output light L2. Some of the output light L2 is taken out of a beam splitter 6. A piezoelectric converter 8 is regulated by a control circuit to stabilize the intensity of the output light.
