Abstract

PURPOSE: To suppress the level variance due to lack of uniformity of reflection factor on uncultivated area, by setting the reference level when the boundary between uncultivated and cultivated areas is detected with three sets of photoelectric sensors, lower than the intermediate level of both the sensor outputs of uncultivated and cultivated areas.
CONSTITUTION: The outputs VA, VB, VC of the uncultivated area sensor 20A, boundary line sensor 20B, and cultivated area sensor 20C are fed to the differential amplifiers 25, 26, 27 and the outputs VA-VB and VB-C are fed to the differential amplifier 29 to be used as the signal controlling the steering wheel. The differential amplifier 29 receives the bias voltage VX to shift the reference level. Further, the gain of the differential amplifier 29 is changed by changing the feedback resistance according to the outputs VA-VC. The CPU31 obtains the driving direction and amount of steering wheel depending on the polarity and value of the output of the differential amplifier 29 and feeds it to the driving circuit for steering wheel 33.
