Abstract
PURPOSE:To stabilize laser photooutput by offsetting resistance variation due to temperature changes, by composing resistance, which constitutes an error voltage detecting bridge, of a bulk resistance having the same composition as a semiconductor laser. CONSTITUTION:A laser's photooutput stabilizing circuit is composed of an error voltage detecting bridge consisting of a semiconductor element 1, a resistor 3, a variable resistor 4 and DC intercepting capacitors 5 and 5'. In this mechanism, the laser element 1 is driven by a signal current 2, the voltage having been detected by the bridge is amplified by a differential amplifier 6, and then, a bias current Ib is controlled by using a bias current control circuit 7. In this mechanism, while the laser element 1 is made up of a bulk resistance 8 and an active layer pn-junction 9, of these, the resistor 8 and a bridge resistor 3 are to be left as the bulk resistances of the same composition. Since temperature variation coefficients of these resistances are to become equal in this manner, it is possible to offset the resistance variations and therefore to stabilize the photooutput.
