Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a higher combustion efficiency of a rotary engine whose combustion chamber is the space between an elliptical sliding surface and a true circle, by allowing the explosion force to be applied to the sliding fin provided to the rotating body constantly at right angles.
CONSTITUTION: When a rotating body 6 is rotated, a sliding fin 17 at the end of a rotating rod 10 moves along an elliptical sliding surface 4. On doing this, the rod 10 rotates sliding along inclined guiding surfaces 14 and 14. As the sliding fin 17 approaches an ignition chamber 31, the air-fuel mixture in a front combustion chamber 2 is compressed, and new air-fuel mixture is sucked into a rear combustion chamber 2 from a suction port 39. The compressed air-fuel mixture is taken into the ignition chamber 31 through a rotary valve 32, and ignited by an ignition plug 37. The explosion gas flows into a communicating port 30 through an exhaust port 34, and works on one side of the fin 17 to rotate. By this, driving force is obtained through an output shaft 7.
