PURPOSE:To improve a combustion characteristic in a service area by moving a trailing side spark plug to the minor axis side of a rotor housing, and moving a leading side spark plug so as to keep an optimum distance with this. CONSTITUTION:Setting an apex seal 13 to be situated on a minor axis of a rotor housing 2 when a rotor 3 is situated in a suction top dead point down to a starting point, a trailing side spark plug 11 is set up in a position where this apex seal 13 is moved as far as 15-40 deg. in an opposite rotational direction at a eccentric shaft turning angle. And, a leading side spark plug 12 is set up in a position where the apex seal 13 to be situated in a position of the trailing side spark plug 11 is advanced as far as about 140 deg. in a direction of rotation at the eccentric shaft turning angle. With this constitution, at a service area of relatively low rotation, such a possibility that a flame out of the trailing side spark plug 11 is retained at an end face of a rotary recess 3a is brought to nothing, so that such combustion that is high in a combustion rate and excellent in efficiency can be done.
