Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve efficiency of internal combustion engine, by employing an arrangement capable of taking off its output directly as rotational force.
CONSTITUTION: On both sides of disk 3 having an output shaft 8 extended through its central portion, there are carried blades 4, 5 in freely slidable manner. The disk 3 is held between a pair of corrugated side-seal plates 1, 2, and its outer peripheral portion is sealed hermetically by cylindrical member 6 and its inner peripheral portion is sealed by cylindrical member 7. When the rotary disk 3 is turned to the right together with blade 4, mixture is introduced from intake port 12. With another half turn of the disk 3, mixture is compressed by blade 5. When communication port 9 is opened, mixture is carried into an upper combustion chamber. When mixture is carried completely into the upper combustion chamber, port 9 is closed and mixture is ignited by ignition plug 10. Resultantly, blade 5 is pushed by the pressure produced by expansion of combustion gas and disk 3 is thus caused to turn. Exhaust gas is discharged to the outside from exhaust port 11.
