Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain both the reference carrier wave and the bit timing signal in a short time, by securing the phases alpha and beta alternately for the pre-word and then carrying out the N-phase offset PSK modulation of the fixed phase in accordance with the transmission signal for the information word respectively. CONSTITUTION:For the transmitting device of the time-division multiple connection system suited to the satellite communication system, the output of the carrier oscillator 1 is supplied to the double-phase modulator 2 or the N-phase modulator 4 via the change-over switch 6. The modulator 2 is controlled by the rectangular wave signal of the cycle 2T (T: symbol period) sent from the terminal 3, and then gives a phase modulation of alpha and beta to the carrier wave. The modulator 4 performs a phase modulation of 2pii/N (i=0-N-1) in correspondence to the transmission code supplied from the terminals 5 and 5'. And the outputs of both modulators pass through the switch 6' controlled by the control signal supplied from the terminal 7 and is then applied to the gate circuit 8. The switches 6 and 6' are connected to the lower and upper sides in the case of the preword and the information word each and by the control signal to be applied to the terminal 7. And the burst-type transmission signal is delivered to the terminal 10 by the gate ON/OFF control signal to be applied to the terminal 9.
