Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the circuit constitution by providing the code converting means consisting of the exclusive logic sum and the delay means which gives the offset equivalent to a half time of the symbol period at the input circuit of the N-phase PSK modulator. PURPOSE:In the 4(N=4)-phase PSK modulator, the binary signals of two series are supplied to the transmission logic circuit 5 from the terminals 3 and 4. At the circuit 5, the exclusive logic sums 5 and 10 are secured for both the input signal and the signal received the 1-bit delay 7 and 11, and one of the sums is supplied to the driving circuit 8 after the code conversion with the other sum supplied to the driving circuit 12 after an offset given by 1/2.T (T: symbol period) at the delaying circuit 20 respectively. The conduction and the nonconduction of the diodes 18 and 19 of the phase modulator 2' are controlled by the output signals of the circuits 8 and 12 and with an offset of 1/2.T. The carrier wave of the oscillator 1 is supplied to the branch element 21 and then to the circulators CL13 and 15 with a phase difference of 90 deg.. Then the carrier wave is supplied to transmission lines 23 and 16 to come back and then delivered through the CL13 and 15 to be compounded via the compound element 22 to be then delivered through the modulation output terminal 17.
