Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable a grid for a lead storage battery to be efficiently casted and produced by further adding thalium to a lead-calcium alloy. CONSTITUTION:A Pb-Ca alloy (Ca content: 0.01-0.2%) is added with not less than one constituent of 0.001-0.2% of Al, 0.05-2% of Sn and 0.01-0.5% of Ag to obtain an alloy; the Pb-Ca alloy alone may be used. The alloy thus obtained is furthermore added with 0.01-2% of Tl to obtain another alloy. This alloy is casted and served for an electrode grid. The addition of thalium extremely improves the casting of the alloy and greatly enhance the productivity of the grid.
