A lead base alloy, for forming plate grids in lead acid accumulators, comprises:- Cd 0À5-3% in approximately equal amounts Sd 0À5-3% J Ag 0À05-0À25% and optionally Al 0À01-0À1% and Sn up to 0À5% the balance, apart from incidental ingredients and impurities, being lead.
