Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable a specified pattern to be marked at the same time as a latent image is formed, by providing on part of a photoreceptor surface another photoconductive layer to be charged to a polarity reverse to that of the latent image to be formed on a photoreceptor.
CONSTITUTION: Electrophotographic receptor 1 usually employed in black and white copying is provided on part of it with photoconductive layer 3 having sensitivity to a light of a certain color but transmitting the light of the other color capable of rendering receptor 1 under this layer 3 substantially conductive. Interlayer 4 may be interposed between receptor 1 and layer 3. It is convenient that a mark, such as "secret" in a color not black and white but red can be formed by exposing layer 3 on part of receptor 1 at the same time as charging exposure of receptor 1.
