Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve efficiency of the power amplifier which consists of the class ''A'' and class ''B'' or class ''AB'' PP amplifier having a floating power source, by inserting the floating power source in series to the output signal path. CONSTITUTION:A class ''A'' PP amplifier is constituted by transistors TR1, 2 and a class ''B'' amplifier is constituted by TR8, 9. Floating power source 6 is inserted in series to the output signal path. That is, respective emitters of TR8, 9 are connected to collectors of TR2, 1. When the circuit is formed in this manner and an input signal is applied, the voltage of the floating power source is added to the maximum output voltage of the power amplifier taken out from load resistor 7. Thus, floating power source 6 can be caused to contribute to enhancement of the maximum output voltage of the amplifier, and consequently, efficiency of the power amplifier can be improved.
