Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the combustion efficiency and economical efficiency of the firing furnace of a Dwight-Lloyd sintering machine by measuring the O2 concn. of exhaust gas in a wind box provided with a secondary air feeder as well as a primary air feeder and controlling the feed of secondary air in accordance with the measured value.
CONSTITUTION: Firing furnace 3 of the sintering machine is provided with fuel feed system 5 composed of fuel source 51, flow rate control valve 53, flow meter 55 and burner 54 and combustion air feed system 6 composed of air flow rate adjuster 62, flow rate control valve 63, and burner 54. At the same time, furnace 3 is provided with secondary air feed system 7 composed of flow rate adjuster 71, flow rate control valve 72 and flow meter 73. The O2 concn. of exhaust gas is measured with an O2 analyzer in a wind box, inputted in regulator 81, and compared to an O2 concn. set value in regulator 81. A signal based on the deviation is inputted in flow rate adjuster 71. Valve 72 is controlled with instructions from adjuster 71 to feed a proper vol. of air to furnace 3. The feed after the control is measured with flow meter 73, and the result is fed back to adjuster 71 to carry out fine adjustment.
