Abstract
PURPOSE: To control the combustion of a Dwight-Lloyd sintering machine under optimum conditions and enhance the combustion efficiency by measuring the O2 concn. of exhaust gas with O2 analyzers placed in wind boxes of the firing and heat holding furnaces of the machine, comparing the values to standard set values, and controlling the vol. of combustion air in accordance with the deviation values.
CONSTITUTION: When blended starting material for sintering on pallet conveyor 11 is fired in firing furnace 13 and sintered in heat holding furnace 14, the O2 concn. of exhaust gas is measured with O2 analyzer 2 placed in wind box 15a of furnace 13 and the value is inputted in O2 controller 21. A standard value of the O2 concn. of exhaust gas at the most desirable combustion state of furnace 13 has been set in controller 21, where the measured value is compared to the standard one. In accordance with the deviation signal instructions are sent to combustion air flow rate controller 32 to adjust the opening of air flow rate control valve 31, thereby controlling the feed of air to a proper vol. In the system of heat holding furnace 14 the vol. of combustion air is adjusted quite similarly to carry out combustion under optimum conditions. Thus, the combustion efficiency of the sintering machine is enhanced.
