Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure a proper exposure time even when there are abnormally light and dark places by arranging a number of photoelectric detectors which detects the brightness of a phosphor screen and driving a photo-timer depending upon the average value of these output. CONSTITUTION:An X-ray irradiated from an X-ray tube 3 passes through a subject 4, exposes a film 6, and is converted into light by an image tube 7 behind it. A part of the output of the image tube 7 is taken out by a mirror 8 and detected by a number of photodetectors which scatter. The photocurrent of these photodetectors enters a compare circuit 18 and is compared with the voltage from a voltage setting device 25 with a width which is assumed in a normal photographic condition. When there is an abnormally light (dark) place, switches 29 and 30 are opened. As a result, the average value of the outputs from the photodetectors which detect normal light is output from an average value circuit 34 and these outputs are integrated by an integration circuit 36. When this integration value exceeds a specified value, a high voltage generator 2 is stopped.
