Abstract

PURPOSE: To measure distance from the ratio of integration, by using the strobo light source short in the emission time and producing intense light to integrate the output of the two photo detectors during the emission time.
CONSTITUTION: The switching circuit 10 which is ON with strobo flush signal, front photo detector 11, and capacitor 12 are connected in series. The capacitor 12 is charged up with the photo current of the front photo detector 11 and when it reaches a reference level, the comparator 13 is inverted. Thus, the switching circuit 14 is OFF by it. The switching circuit 14, rear photo detector 15, diode 16 of peak hold, and capacitor 17 are connected in series to stop the charging of the capacitor 17 with turned off switching circuit 14. Since the output of the capacitor 17 is a value proportional to the output ratio of the photo detectors 11 and 15, i.e., the intensity of illumination at each measuring point, the distance can be known from the output.
