Abstract

PURPOSE: To automatically determine aperture value in a maximum flash-photographable distance range by measuring the intensity of the reflected light of preliminarly emitted light which is of a fixed intensity and is continuous, and comparing this and a set value thereby determining the aperture.
CONSTITUTION: When stopping down of aperture is accomplished by depressing a shutter button, a switch 11 goes ON to apply the signal of a high level to a flash emission device 12 via resistance 10, thereby causing this to emit continuous light of relatively low luminance and constant luminous, i.e., to emit light preliminary. Since the light through the preliminary emission is reflected by the subject and enters a photometric element 1 by passing through a photographic lens L, the value of the voltage V6 at the point B gradually degreases as the aperture AP is stopped down. When it reaches the value having been set by a constant-voltage regulated power supply 6, the output of a comparator 7 is inverted. This output passes through AND 8 is applied to a magnet 9 to operate this, whereby the aperture AP is stopped in the opening value of that time.
