Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:The titled compound expressed by formula I (R1 is H, lower alkyl or lower alkoxyl; R2 is lower alkyl; R3 is H or acyl).
EXAMPLE: Ethyl 3-amino-4-(3-methoxyphenoxy)benzoate.
USE: Pharamceuticals having a reducing action on lipid and inhibitory action on platelet aggregation.
PROCESS: A compound of formula II is reduced in a solvent, e.g. methanol or dioxane, in the presence of a catalyst of 5W10% Raney nickel or Pd-C to give a compound of formula III, which is reacted with a carboxylic acid compound (e.g. formic acid, acetic acid or propionic acid) to give the compound of formula I in which R3 is acyl.
