Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of the whole bottle-inspecting apparatus and improve the reliability thereof, by detecting only the scattered light from the bottle mouth part. CONSTITUTION:With both an annular light-source 2' and a bottle 1 kept at rest, a rotary ring 11 provided with light-shielding plates 9a and 9b and a visual field reducing plate 10 is rotated by means of a motor 7' through a pulley 8. The image thrown on a photoelectric transducer 4 by the light reflected from the bottle mouth rotates in the same direction as the rotary ring 11. The light specularly reflected from the bottle mouth is not incident on the photelectric transducer 4 which is constantly shielded by the visual field reducing plate 10, while only the scattered light resulting from the bottle mouth defect which appears in the effective photoelectric transducing region is incident on the photoelectric transducer 4 and converted into an electrical signal. When the rotary ring 11 rotates one-half turn, the scattered light resulting from the defects on the whole circumference of the bottle mouth are converted into electrical signals.
