Abstract

The orienting directions of orienting films 3 attached to the upper and under surfaces of a middle glass plate 1 are made parallel to each other and perpendicular to the orienting direction of the films 3 attached to the insides of the upper and lower glass plates 1. A transparent electrode 2 under the upper plate 1 is a plane one, and a transparent electrode pattern enabling a digital display is set on the upper surface of the middle plate 1. Transparent electrodes 2 covering part of the display section are placed on the under surface of the middle plate 1 and the upper surface of the lower plate 1 opposite to each other.
