Abstract
PURPOSE:To attain the thickness measurement of a lens to be measured with the lens mounted on a jig by focusing a chart image in the vicinity of the center of curvature of the undersurface of the lens and by observing the focused chart image. CONSTITUTION:The pattern of a chart 3 illuminated by a light source 1 through a lens 2 is transmitted through a half mirror 4, a collimator lens 5 and an objective lens 6 and is focused at the focal point (a') of the lens 6. This image is transmitted through the upper surface of a lens 14 to be examined and is reflected on the undersurface thereof and then focused at the center (a'') of curvature of the undersurface of the lens 14. This image is transmitted through the objective lens 6 and the collimator lens 5, is reflected on the half mirror 4 and is focused on a focusing plate 7. The image focused on the focusing plate 7 is observed through an ocular lens 8. The thickness of the lens 14 can be measured through the adjustment of the respective positions of the objective lens 6 and the ocular lens 8 and the observation of the chart image.
