CONSTITUTION:A steel sheet 4 continuously rising from a vessel 2 holding a zinc bath is passed through a gas wiping device 6 to regulate the amount of zinc stuck, and it is rapidly cooled with a liq. sprayed from the nozzles 10 of a device 8 for making spangles fine. Thus, the spangles of the sheet are made fine. At this time, the central part 8A of the device 8 is moved away from the vessel 2, parts connecting the central part 8A to both end parts 8B, 8C are made freely bendable, and the parts 8B, 8C are made closer to the vessel 2 by linear bending. Thus, the positions of the nozzles 10 of the device 8 can be regulated according to a difference in cooling speed between the central part and both edge parts of the sheet 4, and uniform fine spangles are formed.
