Abstract
PURPOSE:To effectively perform the operations of gas exhaustion and vacuum brazing by performing the activation of a cathode under vacuum immediately before sealing operation when separately assembled cathode, grid electrode, and anode are sealed into a tube. CONSTITUTION:After the assembling of the stem 1, the mounting of the cathode 2, and the operation of carbonization 3, the activation of the thorium-tungsten cathode 11 is made under vacuum and built up. Then, the grid electrode is built up by the assembling of the grid electrode 4, the surface treatment 5, and the vacuum treatment 6, the assembling of the anode 7 is made, and then they are sealed into a tube. Then, the operations of gas exhaustion and vacuum brazing 23 are performed, where the vacuum brazing is conducted by housing the electron tube 24 in the vacuum tank 12 and further housing the tank 12 in the vacuum heating furnace 25 without firing the cathode. Thus, degassing and gas exhaustion can be effectively performed without fouling other electrodes and therefore the operation of vacuum brazing can be effectively adhieved.
