Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify the layout of the lead wires of a series reactor and to increase the inductance of the lead wires at its shortcircuiting time by winding two sets of coils in the same winding direction, connecting them at the lower ends and connecting the upper ends to different terminals. CONSTITUTION:A series reactor is split into two coils 1, 2 for one phase, and the coils are disposed in windows of the exclusive magnetic shields 3, 4 for both the coils. Both the coils are wound from above to below in the same direction, the lead wires 6, 7 of the coil are provided at the top, and the lower lead wires 10, 11 of the coil are connected to one another with a lead wire 14. The upper lead wires 6, 7 are connected to different terminals, and are led externally of a tank through lead wires 15, 16 and bushings 9, 13 respectively. Since the lead wires do not almost creep in the tank, the insulation between the lead wires and the tank becomes unnecessary. Since the magnetic fluxes of both coils are acted to add one another in the direction even if the magnetic shields are saturated, its inductance will increase.
