Abstract

PURPOSE:To diminish the sound of exhaust at the beginning thereof and the strinking sound of a piston, while enlarging the width of the exhaust port, by dividing an opening part by longitudinal ribs provided at the exhausted port of the two-cycle engine and by giving a difference in positions of the upper edges of the respective sections of the devided opening part. CONSTITUTION:The cylinder body 10 of the two-cycle engine is provided with a scavenging passage 10, a scavenging port 16, the exhaust port 20 and an exhaust passage 22, and the exhaust port 20 is divided by the longitudinal ribs 24. The cental opening section 26 of the divided opening part and the right and left opening sections 28 and 30 thereof are formed in such a manner that the positions of the upper edges of the section 26 and the sections 28 and 30 are given a difference by L1 between them. Accordingly, at the stroke of L1 at the beginning of exhaust, only the central opening section 26 is opened, whereby the sound of exhaust caused at the beginning of exhaust can be diminished. And, at the subsequent stroke of L2, all the opening sections are opened to reduce resultantly the resistance of exhaust, while the longitudinal ribs 24 prevent projection of a piston ring to the exhaust port and generation of the striking sound of the piston.
