Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the scattering of light in the direction parallel to the surface of fluorescent layer while to improve such performance as the contrast, resolution, etc. by providing recesses in the surface of a substrate through the irradiation of laser beam while providing cracks corresponding to said recesses. CONSTITUTION:The laser beam is irradiated onto the surface of a substrate 1 made of a thin plate such as Al, ceramic, etc. having plain surface to produce many recesses 11.
