PURPOSE:To improve reliability and to simplify constitution by eliminating a mechanical relay and by using only one amplifier. CONSTITUTION:A selective assignment signal held at ''0'' in retrieval command mode and at ''1'' in print command mode is applied to the minus input terminal of AND gate AN1 and inverter IN1. Then, retrieval pulse 1 and print pulse 0 are applied to AND gate AN1 and the other input terminal of AN2, so the retrieval pulse is applied to OR gate OR1 in retrieval command mode and the print pulse is applied to pulse amplifier PAM in print command mode. Then, output (a) of PAM has different peak values of the pulse between the retrieval command and print command and is a voltage having the same polarity with an input signal pulse. A DC component regenerating circuit holds both outputs of inverter INs 2 and 3 at level ''0'' in retrieval and at level 1 in print recording. Therefore, transistor TRQ1 turns on, and Q2 off during the retrieval; and TRQ1 turns off, and TRQ2 on during the print recording. Consequently, the polarity in the retrieval is inverse of that in the print recording.
