Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily produce a broad quenched metallic thin strip having uniform thickness and structure in the width direction by projecting flow regulating pieces to the end of a broad nozzle thereby making the flow regulating section longer. CONSTITUTION:In a broad nozzle 1, >=2 pieces of molten metal flow regulating pieces 6 are projectively provided in the same direction as that of the molten metal jet flow, in both side end parts in the longitudinal direction at the foremost end part 8 of a molten metal ejection port 7 of a broad and flat shape. The ejected molten metal is guided by these pieces 6, by which the flow regulating section is made longer, and the regulated flow of the molten metal uniform in the width direction is ejected in the contact line part of a roll.
