Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a broad amorphous metallic tape of less fluctuations in broadside thickness by forming the sectional shape of a perforated nozzle for ejectin of molten metal into a rectangular shape. CONSTITUTION:The sectional shape of a perforated nozzle which ejects molten metal into the circumferential surface of a roll revolving at a high speed is formed into a rectangular shape. The molten metal ejected through this nozzle is throttled first like (a), is then formed to (b) of a constant width, is next increased in width like (c) and is thence formed to the same shape (d) as (b). If the position of the nozzle is so set that the state of (c) comes to the contact point between proximity rolls and if this is combined with adequate production conditions, the amorphous metallic tape of a uniform plate width is obtained.
