Abstract
PURPOSE:To surely remove the toner attracted on a toner carrying body and a toner capturing member by approaching a corona discharger to the circumferential surface of the toner capturing member, and providing the same by extending in parallel to the turning center thereof. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 1 turns clockwise, and a corona discharger 6 is disposed in proximity to the circumferential surface of the drum 1 so that before the circumferential surface of said drum passes a toner captuing member 2 it receives discharge effect. In the above-mentioned constitution, first the peripheral body of the drum 1 receives DC discharge or biased AC discharge by the corona discharger 6, and is thereby removed of the residual surface potential of the polarity reverse from the residual toner T. By the above-mentioned discharge operation, the charge of the polarity reverse from that of the toner T is applied by a corona discharger 3 on the peripheral surface of the member 2, and the residual toner T on the peripheral surface of the member 2 is attracted to the peripheral surface of the toner capturing member 2. The toner T attracted to the member 2 is scraped by a flexible platelike body 4 and drops into a recovery device.
