Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the characteristics by forming a photosensitive layer consisting of Se and one or more among Te, As, halogen, etc. on an electrically conductive support and further forming an Se layer contg. a little Te or doped with a very small amount of halogen to reduce the segregation of Te. CONSTITUTION:On an electrically conductive support the 1st photosensitive layer of Se-Te, Se-Te-halogen, Se-Te-As or Se-Te-As-halogen is formed in about 30-70mu thickness. The compsition of the layer consists of 88-94% Se, 6-12% Se, about 1% Te and about 30-50ppm Cl. On the 1st layer the 2nd photosensitive layer consisting of 98-99.9% Se and 2-0.1% Te or made of Se doped with 5-100ppm halogen is formed in about 0.5-10mu thickness to obtain a receptor. Thus, the concn. of Te thickly segregated on the surface of the 1st layer is made uniform over the whole 1st and 2nd layers, and the receptor has high photosensitivity, superior charge receivability and retentivity, etc.
