Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve a removal performance of SS(suspended substance) and lower the cost of water treatment by using air contg. O3 as a gas for flotation in SS (suspended substance) removal operation using a flotation method.
CONSTITUTION: The ozonized air contg. more than several hundreds ppm of O3 generated in an O3 generator 12 is blown into an O3 reaction tower 11 from an air diffuser 14 provided in the bottom of the tower 11. On the other hand, raw water 16 is flowed down into the tower 11 by a water spraying device 17 provided in the upper part of the tower 11 and is allowed to descend, so that it is put in counter- current contact with the bubbles of the blown O3. As a result, SS in the liquid is concd. in the upper part of the tower by the floating effect of the ozonized air. Further, as secondary effect, the sterilization, decoloring, deodorizing and COD removal are accomplished as known by the powerful oxidation effect of O3. Next, the unreacted O3 in the waste gas discharged from the tower 11 is decomposed in an ozone treating device 15, after which the gas is released into the atmosphere. The liquid after the ozone treatment is released as treated water 19 through the outlet pipe 18 provided in the lower part of the tower 11 or is supplied as recycling water to the next process facilities.
