Abstract

PURPOSE: To considerably reduce the activated sludge treatment time of waste water by producng bubbles over the entire area of a reaction vessel, allowing the same to cotact microbes or the like in activated sludge and performing flotation with a large number of microbubbles produced by decrease of pressure.
CONSTITUTION: Part of raw water which is water or liquid to be treated is dissolved and satd. with air under 1W5atm to create high pressure water, and activated sludge is contained alone or together with the raw water in a treating vessel separately roughly under atmospheric pressure. In the lower part of the above- described treating vessel, the above-described high pressure water is introduced into this vessel and further the activated sludge and the raw water are mixed by the bubbles produced by decrease of pressure, whereby the activated sludge treatment is executed. The formed solids are subjected to floatation by bubbles, whereby the raw water is purified. The above-described processes are carried out once or successively twice or more times, whereby the activated sludge treatment is carried out.
